SoupDragon
Hi all! This is my first post I need help wiring up a Shorrock 170 bell box (the big pentagon one). The terminals on the bell board are: - TAMP- C NO NC -- HOLD OFF -- RING -- + 12 -- BCON -VE -- I'll be hooking it up to a Accenta G4 which has: *sounder + - *strobe + - *SCB T A *bell D B *set + Any ideas on how the wiring matches up? james.wilson
- TAMP- C -- link to A NO -- no connection NC -- T HOLD OFF + -- bell + RING -- bell - Beacon -ve -- strobe -ve but you also need a hold off -ve securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. SoupDragon
There is a hold off -ve on the bell board but no +ve. Adding a +12 from the strobe kicks it into life but the tamper doesn't register at all. I think originally there was a link between hold off to C and the tamper linking to NC and hold off (just looking at the old wires that had been cut off but left in there). I did connect it up this way with the Ring and +12 connected to the D B on the accenta and the beacon -ve to the strobe -ve. That worked perfectly except when I tripped the bell box tamper the siren would sound (no strobethough) regardless of whether I had it in engineers mode or not. Is that right? What does the hold off do exactly?
james.wilson
the hold off stops the bell sounding, ie if its removed from the wall and its wiring. it also charges the bell battery. engineer mode is irrelevant to standalone bells as they are not aware the panel is in that mode. usually the sab tamper switches remove hold off when opened and obviously cause it to sound. if the panel is in eng mode it will ignore this tamper securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
