Avotronics Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Hi, My system is up and working happily now, but I have two queries. 1, Is it possible, with the excel panel, to link up two different strobes to use independently dependent on alarm type? For example; If the intruder sensors alarm a blue strobe activates!... and if a fire/smoke alarm sounds a red strobe activates!? 2, As my alarm system just covers a one room workshop, the entry/exit contact on the door obviously allows me a set time once activated, to enter my code. However the 360 pir also covers the door, and if I'm not careful it sees me and activates the alarm first or during entry. Obvious answer here is to set the pir as a entry/exit zone also, however I don't really want that because if someone breaks in I want it to go off with out a short few beeps first. I understand I can't have it both ways; so is it possible to set the pir to allow a delay of say 5-10 seconds before it activates? OR, is it possible to have it start entry/exit mode quietly as to not give anything anyway to an intruder that it might be about to go off? and if a quiet entry/exit is possible, is that a global setting effecting all entry/exit zones so that my door will then become silent? Thanks Danny
Rulland Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 The strobe output is just that-goes active during any activation, the sounder output will give a different tone for a fire activation-it pulses. The PIR should be progged as entry route- ie if the FE is activated first it allows access to the RKP, if it doesn't see the FE before it goes active a full alarm will be generated.
petrolhead Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 the excel has communicator outputs so you could wire a separate red strobe to the fire output but i'd use a relay as the communicator outputs wont be up to driving a strobe i wouldn't imagine.
Avotronics Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Hi, Thanks I'll look into those comm outputs. Regarding the other question, I found the answer in the manual. The PIR which would sometimes activate the alarm on entry mode needed changing from a 'guard' to 'Inhibited Entry' zone. If the entry mode is active then the inhibited entry zones are ignored, but will still alarm if triggered on a set system.
