topgunn
Ok i need solutions. My setup is as follows, laptop connected to a monitor through a vga lead as a clone screen. what i need to do is use that screen to act as a camera input on the dvr! screen is in seperate building to DVR, only cat5 and BNC between them. without swapping to a monitor with BNC output does anyone have any solutions??? possibly something with VGA splitter somehow or BNC converter? help please
PSE
If I'm understanding this right, You could use a Cat5 VGA Monitor Extender, They use a single Cat5 cable up to 100Mtr Regards

Ive looked and how it seems to me is a vga onto cat5 then back to vga. soo i would then need a vga converter too?? or is there other types? sixwheeledbeast
Yep or use a VGA to Composite convertor and send over the coax.
PSE
Its all depending on what product you use, And where you purchase it from. We have used a small amount of the Cat5 VGA extenders, We purchase the kit as a pair, not individual. So, you have both converters, the sender local to the source, and receiver at the far end, going back to VGA Alternativly, as mentioned above, you could go with VGA to Composite converter, if you can utlise an RCA signal.
