Security System Integrated With Home Automation ( Which To Choose ? )

Hi all

I am looking for a system which can incorporate the following ( or most ! )

Alarm system with touchscreen x 2 that can be used with access control ,lighting , cctv , smoke alarms can control my heating & cooling and can be controlled by smartphone with text/email notifications.

It would need to be Z-Wave compatible rather than X10.

Plenty of scope for expansion

Mainly 99% wired for the zones with an option for wireless .

I did find something that took my fancy Honeywell Vista Panel with Tuxedo touch keypads ( these appear to do every thing I require ) BUT then I found out I was on the US site and they are not available here !!

Anybody done something simular with equiptment they could recommend ?

I do have in my possesion 2 x Dimension panels & Touchcenters never used but I don't know if there are enough interfaces to do everything I need ! ( technology moves on so quick ,they maybe for sale if the won't do the job now )

Thanks Paul

The dimension is very powerful but wont do the integration that you need. There isnt any UK compliant panels that do what you need. I have been looking for some time but the UK is very behind the times on this. The only way is to link your dimension etc to homeseer or something similar to do the automation side. Other than that you may need to import a panel from the states

Very helpful and simply to the point !

Will have a look around at alternatives like homeseer

But I'm a little tempted to import one & find an expert to wire it up, if I go down that route.( wont be for some time though )

If I come across anything very usefull I'll post it here.

Many thanks

Have a look at Crestron & Control soft for the automation side and keypads, both are integrated with our Premier Elite range of control panels, might be worth a look, if you want the security aspect communicated for a police response then the security side will need to be compliant with UK regs, if you import the product this may not be the case.

Most people (other than high end ie crestron etc) dont want police response anyway. Most home automation systems available already do intruder etc. Just not in a compliant way. Looks like they will get the bulk of the market in the long term

We would be happy to develop something for you. I started a home automation system with my alarm system back in the early 90's, I got as far as remote control of input/outputs controlling lights and central heating but back then you had to use a modem. Nowadays systems can be run over the www it would not be hard to set up inputs/outputs to control lighting heating infra red transmitters for TV's and recorders. My next house will have Driod tabs around the house controlling the CCTV and intruder along with CHeating, Lighting,Hi Fi, the Swiming Pool Heater, and TV system. Being an Droid driven system I will be able to control and review the system remotely from anywhere.
