breff Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 There are 2 different tings here MISHPET I think you are talking about your external Static IP address, ie your public internet address or WAN address. Im assuming you have that (its your 81.x.x.x address) You then port forward in your router to your dvr (on the 192.x.x.x address) But if the dvr is changing its address on the internal network the port forwards will fail as the router will be forwarding to the wrong internal address. Depends on the router, the BT Homehubs and 2Wires forward to a device instead of an address The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
james.wilson Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Agreed but then it must be set as dhcp if using one of them. It sounds to me like the internal address has changed for whatever reason securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Alarmtek Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Have you had IT in latley or has anybody reset the router, usual problem, if a dynamic IP give it a go
