Driller Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 So I burnt the toast and one of the M12s sets the system off. However, the M12 in question stays in the activated state even after manager code entered. They are wired in and with the jumper settings for alarm panel reset using output 8, 0V detector reset. My understanding was that when the manager code was put in this triggers the output which then resets the smokes. Nothing doing. Went into the test menu and did an output test for the output in question and this then reset the smokes, all fine again. Surely this shouldn't be necessary?
james.wilson Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Detector reset on honeywell panels only changes state at arm. If they are on seperate circuits disable the latch securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Driller Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Ah, right, well that explains it! When you say disable the latch do you mean configure the jumpers on the M12 for auto reset? (sorry to be dim)
james.wilson Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Yes. But if you have more than 1 detector per circuit you will need to keep them latching. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Driller Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Thanks for the confirmation James, I've got extra RIOs so everything on the system has it's own zone.

Driller Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Actually, just thought of something. How is an auto reset smoke going to react to a 5 second pulse on the -ive side each time the alarm is armed? Alternative is to find an output type which is constantly negative or move the wires over to a negative aux terminal I suppose?
kwc Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 If on own zone then set up as self reset, M12 multi sensor.pdf
Driller Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Thanks KWC I shall do that. My last query though was regarding leaving them connected to the 0V detector reset but having the M12 set as self reset. I was concerned this would set off a tamper or smoke alarm condition although thinking about it there shouldn't be a problem, the detector is just being powered up and down quickly a few times. guys.
