mikef Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 We have installed a Samsung SRD-1670DC with 16 camera's to protect a building site, but the owners want to record the build over a 3-4 month period so they can view it in say 5 minutes they need about 4 - 8 camera's to take a snap shot every 10-15 minutes 10 hours a day. I was thinking about using the loop through from the SRD-1670DC so we can use the existing cameras and use a cheap DVR and set it at the lowest frame rate for ten hours a day five days a week but that is still going to be a lot of footage. Has anyone got any better suggestions?
james.wilson Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 You can use your cameras but you will need something that can take the snapshots as required. This is not a function of a dvr usually. We have our own software solution for this when we do it, but easiest way for you would be to add a decent ip camera as the good ones have this feature. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
