Brian Burt Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Hi I purchased a brand new unused SD1 dialer on ebay and the audio quality on playback is very poor any way of improving quality and volume of recording. I have tried recording with cover removed not much better. Any thoughts. email Please read the rules before posting thanks
james.wilson Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 How poor, bear in mind eBay is used by some to get rid of less than perfect gear rather than reject it. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
9651 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 You can try recording with the front off and talk directly into the microphone, but i've had this before and ended up replacing the unit.
james.wilson Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Is it defiently an sd1 as that unit was replaced by the sd1+ many many years ago securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Oxo Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 You need a quiet background, speak clearly within 5 cm of the microphone.
Brian Burt Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Yes its an SD1 not an SD1+ I think its been on the shelf for years as the staples in the manual are rusted.
james.wilson Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 So has the mic by the sound securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
sixwheeledbeast Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Rust = Moisture Not good for electronic items. There not normally crystal clear, but should be clear enough to understand the speech on the telephone. As said before quiet background, speak clearly into the microphone on the back of the PCB, if your still not happy it's possibly faulty.
Brian Burt Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Thanks to all. Got it just audable on replay. I think some one purchased it and never fitted it and its just been left in a damp place from new.
