hi all

i have a veritas r8 panel and lcd keypad

when pressing the pa button and triggering the alarm the keypad gives out an audible alarm until the code is entered or panel reset

what i wanted to know is, is it possible to disable this ?

i would like the alarm to be as silent as possible there is no outside or internal bell box sounders connected etc just a gsm dialer

i would prefer no sounds from the keypad if the pa button is activated or if the alarm is activated, is this possible

thanks

jay

You could connect the PA direct to the dialler, bypassing the panel.

in the manual it will say if there is an option for silent pa.

doubt it with alarm activations on an R8 but stand to be corrected

the dialler needs a negative trigger to activate

i checked the manual and it seems you can only select silent pa option when using the communicator

Make the pa push to make instead of push to break .

And loop a neg from aux out through the pa circuit onto the dialler

lol that's a clever idea :-)

but also forgot i need it silent on activation too

i want to catch the person breaking in on site rather than alarm going off and scaring them away

also hence the need for a silent activation

suppose i could remove the sounder from the keypad

Why would you want to apprehend them and risk injury? better to scare them off surely?
