RC944
it pains me to admit it but i think after much deliberation im going to have to hand the alarm project off to someone more adept than myself! I got to a point where i concluded that the system i wanted was the texe ricochet wireless but given that the bell would need to be wired and that it might be better to let someone else set it up rather than me make a mistake and the alarm not function as it should, i have decided to get the pro's in Problem is i would rather not thumb through the yellow pages and pick one at random and no-one i know can recommend a local firm Any tips on how i should locate a few guys to quote? itesecurity
NSI or SSAIB sites will help you, they will list approved installers in your area. Pick 3 local to you and get quotes from each.

Oxo
Knowing where you are would help. Or Google would bring up the following: http://www.ssaib.org/security-provider-search/ http://www.nsi.org.uk/?q=approved_company_finder
RC944
for the tips gents. Am in the Amersham, Bucks area Are members only ever one scheme or the other as I cannot see the same firm in each scheme?
Oxo
I think there are some with both, but it is a waste of money and time to be with both. You will generally find some start SSAIB and then go the NSI route. Not saying there is anything wrong with SSAIB, just in case someone pops up
