Guest dale Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Texecom Premier 816... 8 zones but with an expander goes to 16. Built in modem for signalling. LCD and LED keypads available and has switchable outputs that can be used for all sorts.. like turning lights on, unlocking doors. Bit pricey though... but for what you get its awsome. As for bells have a look at the Odyssey 4, these are now my favoured bell boxes. Details of distributors are generally only published in the trade section of the website. Yet again... texecom exodus smokes are very reliable and pleasing to the eye....alternatively the Premier also support two wire smokes! Hope this helps! Dale
Guest Adrian Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 B) Well this string is going to be like spilling a can of beans its going to get messy in the next week (You can tell!!) I would use Gardtec the 593 it is upto 24 zones with expanders or 38 zones if using an ID expander. Your problem is Gartec only like to sell to the trade. Adrian B)
Mister_Dave Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Daiashthomas you could buy everything from cpc. The scantronic 9751 is expandable to 24 zones with 2 expander cards, rx40s are available and so are smoke detectors. CpC Dave Oxendale York based security systems engineer.
Guest MKAlarms Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 I would definitely take a look at the Premier 24 from Texecom, 8 zones as standard and can be expanded to 16 or 24. (If the guy is security mad you might be glad of the possibility of future expansion). The LCD keypads look great and are well made. You don't say what your budget is but if you really want it to look good I'd say have a look at the new metal flush mount keypads from texecom, they're very nice. Also if you're after smoke detectors then the Exodus are probably the best I've seen. For bells I can't fault the Odysseys - very reliable and well made. MikeR

Brian c Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Sell them a speech dialler. Get £120 (fitted) for them all day long. 'Home alarm monitoring without the cost' If you don't know......ask.
Service Engineer Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Not bad for a weekend job, would have probably quoted somewhere near £700 through the company so £500 seems about right. Wouldn`t have used the R8 though. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
Brian c Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 don't be slagging off the R8 or we might just fall out. you seen my muscles and my six pack?! If you don't know......ask.
