jb-eye Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Our inspector would fail the installs on no rubbing strip fitted to elongated holes (we disagree with it) fair enough grometts for mains and knock outs but pre-formed? Also, flex is acceptable from spur etc otherwise heating systems etc would fail jef? Think BS4737 had a "all flexible connections correct" on the check list? You missed the point. Scott spotted it. He has used flex as fixed wiring, where its designed for final conections. Its a mute point in any event due to interference from our european neighbours. Both paths have to be reported localy On our panels this is acheived by pulsing from the coms relay. I never gromet strip oversize pre made appertures for ELV cables. Tell your inspector Jef said hes a tit and if he wants to be padantic ill go down the IP aperture size chart with him. Customers!
9651 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I'm curious as to what you would do differently? Is flex into fabric of building one of them? Belfastengineer, I think the linefault output is something we need to look into IMO. As above, we monitor the line via the panel, but obviously we don't get notification of GPRS failure at the panel. Maybe the trigger lead is the way forwards... No LF input on GD panels on trigger lead, so zone only Gay.com imo
james.wilson Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 yep zone only or use a comm that supports reporting it over data securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
goncall Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The line is wired in to the panel for UDL and the local line fault monitor, that's how we always do it. ive always split 1 leg of the tel line through the line fault relay if using the panel for line monitor,im not sure if the dualcom does this will have to check but a standard 3g stu if the the line was just taken from the stu to the panel or comms mod and the tel line was lost a reading of around 3vac can be measured from the stu's a/b terminals which is enough to hold off a galaxy from going into line fault..

But what else is wrong? Flex BTW was always used for FCU outlets, hence the "FLEX" outlets being made. Fixed as you rightly say, should be in T&E. This is getting embrassing, agreeing with you again I can see one glaring one, should be obvious to all. A second that is specific to all metal panels ( and one I have fallen short of if I am to be honest on one occasion). Maybe another "Technical one" As above, always willing to learn, PS Whistle, seen a few of yours now and that IS the neatest.
jb-eye Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 You never stop learning, so if I can get someone's opinion and learn something from it, all the better in my book. Thanks for the input. Scott a tip that should pay Andy dividends and because your keen. We only buy soft back boxs such as Ega or Mita. Its one item that covers all instals such as conduit entry and to boot they wont get broken in the back of your van. Customers!
Paul. Giles Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Cant see the fixed wiring and it has already been confirmed that the supply is is 6242Y? not any longer, he's gone. we're seeing new guy on wed. What happened to Rod?
