Oxo Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Nice panel in the pics, No Grommet on the mains intake. Sorry.
jb-eye Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Nice panel in the pics, No Grommet on the mains intake. Sorry. Pet hate is cables entering via diffrent appetures. Its not a mess but it aint great. Suggestion is give yourself somewhere to go with those cables. i also hate those standoffs as it leaves the way for ripping a panel from its mount. This was covered against sounders in 4737 and IMO the logic follows. Why No EWD? Benifit of doubt is batt date is on reverse. Customers!
SoupDragon Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 haha I was going to ask about the grommit as I did spot them in the other panels on here I see your point with the standoffs and I agree, but I don't think the risk is there (be difficult with the cable there too). Indeed, I dated the battery when I installed it! And I'll see about putting those wires so they enter with the rest of the wiring. Not sure what EWD stands for though... That pic is actually missing the SABB and a few zones as I hadn't quite finished it when I took it.

SoupDragon Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Saw one of your new EWD's the other day, what happend to the old font?
magpye Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Manufactured hole, grommet not required Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
MrHappy Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Manufactured hole, grommet not required I'd say grommet required where the cable passes though metal?, Mr Veritas God
antinode Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 According to BS7671, which we should be following, "where a cable is to be installed through metalwork the hole in the metalwork should have a bush or grommet securely fixed in position to protect the cable" No mention of premanufactured holes or not. For the sake of a couple of pence, it's not really worth arguing about Trade Member
Adi Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 how many panels wont allow you to fit a panel with grommet on, especially if you dont use the stand offs I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
