james.wilson
agreed when i was in a van i carried that flexible stuff from rs but it didnt hold itself in place. I still think a premade hole, painted etc does not require a grommit. Any knockouts or drilled holes do. Thats what we do. But then im a big fan of plastic end stations, metal panels give nothing imo but i know im in the minority securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. alterEGO
We still grommet all, however I would have no issue if the manufactured entry holes had no grommet, as long as the entry used for the 240v has a grommet.
9651
same We always use metal ES on any new panel we fit, small stuff 9651, then gal 2 upwards.
Adi
I think Adi means there is only just enough room to route the cables through the hole without a grommet. So the gap between the mounting surface and the panel. Yep, sure did. 490x and euro mini are 2 examples. although euro mini now ships with stand offs. use plastic but if metalclad then yes id use a grommit. as i said above knockouts etc need grommits, premade entrys do not. im not stating this as fact im stating what we do I agree, i call it common sense, if the hole is smooth then is never going to be a chance in hell of it cutting through flex or T&E. Not arguing, but most premade holes still require a grommet IMHO. ever seen the edges in them? Who else carries a selection of files? Have you ever seen a rough edge on a manufactures hole? If so, what panel. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
Oxo
Seen edges not entirely smooth on Cooper and Galaxy. Some plaggy stuff yrs back. Even MK knock outs can have rough edges. As before, taught to use them. It`s neat, tidy and is correct.
james.wilson
so on a normal surface plaggy backbox how did you grommit? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. Oxo
Holesaw and grommet or use a strip. As I said was told to do it that way so did it that way. Even the knock out will accept a grommet.
