francispuk Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 We have a Scantronic 9651 which has suddenly come up with a 'Batt Missing error'. I am assuming it is referring to the 12 volt battery in the control unit. I have checked, the battery is there and it measures 13 volts, also checked the battery fuse. I tried disconnecting the battery and the mains, just in case something had got confused and needed a power reset. Anyone seen anything like this before? Any advice would be must appreciated before I condemn the control unit to the bin. Many Thanks.
james.wilson Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Sounds like you have a battery fault. Test it OFF charge and not with a volt meter securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Lwillis Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Testing voltage on a battery is not a test it the current that's required .
Oxo Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 As above, get it correctly tested or just replace. The panel is incapable of telling lies.
francispuk Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Thanks Guys, The battery has been tested out of circuit, with a load attached to it, and it is able to supply plenty of current. However I will get a new battery anyway and give it a go.
Oxo Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 How did you test? Resistors across the terminals?
francispuk Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Hi, No I used an electronic load. We are an electronics company and use DC loads when testing power supplies.
