steveyd2010 Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Help, I have a scantronic 9751 fitted and have recently suffered a break-in in the shed which was not alarmed, I have purchased a scantonic rfx08 wire free expanader and got it connected to the main panel, the expander is configured for zones 17 upwards, i have fitted the wirefree contacts on the shed and when coming out of engineer mode all i get is faults for zone 17 and 18 - this is the zones that the expander assigned the wire free detectors to. What am I doing wrong? The rest of the system have EOL resisters so after the failed first attempt I fitted a standard door contact to the shed and wired this to the wirefree contact, jumpering out the internal reed switch but even after doing this I cant get it to work. The door contact / transmitter I have is a 734EURO-01 Any help would be appreciated.
Alarm Protection Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 How far away is the shed? After installing the devices did you trigger them. I have to do this on Gardtec wirefree to send back the tamper restore. !
antinode Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Have you tried to walk test the new contacts? Command 97. What response do you get when they are triggered in walk test? If nothing, try removing one and taking it back to the reciever. If it works next to the reciever, chances are the shed is too far away (although in my experience, Scanny wireless stuff usually has quite a good range) Trade Member
steveyd2010 Posted October 28, 2012 Author Posted October 28, 2012 it shows up in walk test as the zone but also shows up as tamper........totally at a loss now.
Alarm Protection Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Check the front and back tamper on the devices. I would take the devices back to the receiver and test as antiode says.. !
Wyatthaplo Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Definantly check the tampers. A couple times after i have put covers on the tampers were not made and I just had to tae the cover off and make sure the tampers closed properly. Also check the range as mentioned Work Website: http://www.welch-group.co.uk/ Personal Blog: http://wyatthaplo.blogspot.com/
Oxo Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 One thing that gets me with wireless. Why do people not set it up at the panel/expander ect. PROVE it works, then take it half a mile away and then see what happens? If you get my point?

fozzies Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 When you programmed the detectors into the expander it showed a number on the led display. That was the return signal strength. It continuse to show that number for a while, and the detructions that came with it will tell u how to get it up again. Do that
