RossoReed Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 I tried fitting the 2K2 resistor between +12V and bell trigger, but it still did not work, so had to resort to a relay as per OXO above. I wired a 40mA relay between Bell Trigger & +12V (with a diode across the coil to prevent Back EMF damaging the panel), and wired the normally open contacts between the auxiliary +12V panel supply and the Soundbomb. The Soundbomb -ve is wired to auxiliary 0V. The auxiliary panel supply is capable of supplying 300mA, and as I only have one PIR on the supply, there is ample left for the Soundbomb. Sorted!
Oxo Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Top man, But take the power off the PIR supply and put it across the battery.
RossoReed Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Top man, But take the power off the PIR supply and put it across the battery. Is that to prevent the PIR being falsely triggered by the noise/voltage drop from the Soundbomb?
Oxo Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Yep. Some might say no, but its worth avoiding anyway,
james.wilson Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 i wouldnt put it accross the battery that will be unfused. Id leave it where it is. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Oxo Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Inline holder. Seen it happen before when in alarm it drops the voltage enough and the PIR goes unstable and it took out the rearms. Admittedly it was a large TS and the sounder was a Texecom oddey on the same power as the PIR. It`s not entirely needed, just someone being careful.
RossoReed Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Speaking with a Pyronix tech earlier today who suggested a 'Plan B' if anyone else has the same problem in the future; Simply change the link in the Deltabell to 'positive removed'. It would appear that the likely problem is that the trigger voltage did not drop sufficient low enough to activate the Deltabell due to the increased load from the Soundbomb. The 2K2 resistor between +12v and bell trigger would keep the trigger high, until of course the panel activates, and the bell trigger output becomes negative applied and drops the trigger sufficient to activate the Deltabell.
