Guest Peter James Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Mike I bought three Pro,s they seem to be the d's b's until they started going wrong. The first we new was when a customer had a breakin and wanted to review the cams and the hard drive apeared to be missing. Its not just the kit that crp its the after service, no advance replacements for kit less than a week old, to return faulty kit you pay the carriage, they have it for weeks and promise it back next day everytime you phone. The problem seems to be that they are owned and run by a chap who doesnt trust his staff. They wont release returns until he has signed it off and he is not always around. They rely on the fact that theres another mug just round the corner rather than building a decent customer base (and decent kit) Pete
jb-eye Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Has anyone used Leviathan This uses a conventional Windows front end and is therfore a dodle to network, we have used 8-9 of these units on internal viewing over office networks. i have not seen them myself but our enginers say not bad but not as good as DM but there again the price was attractive. i have also been given a lot of cheap DVRs to play with Less than £400 WE WILL NOT BE FITTING THEM. Jef Customers!
Brian c Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 never heard of them sorry. Looked at their site, though, seem ok and average price. We're currently testing the dowshu at one of our sites. No idea of the price but seems to be working well, so far! http://www.dowshu.com/products.htm I'll keep you updated on it's progress :0) If you don't know......ask.

secure4 Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 We use a very reliable system built by lookc www.lookc.co.uk frame rates a bit naff but the reliabilty, features and support are second to none. We monitor and administer all our customers remotely over broadband. Regards. Mark secure4.me.uk digital cctv
ian.cant Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 I've been over to LookC place in newcastle for a demo with a potential client and i must admit it looked really useful kit, i had my doubts about the frame rates and when i questioned them they baffled me with //.B.W.F.//. I never got the job and i suspect they sold direct to my client but i don't know that for sure.
secure4 Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 The frame rate, or lack of, is due to the encryption the system uses, writing the HEX code on the image. However to be honest, the frame rate on most of the DVR's isnt brilliant. As for the system its a good bit of kit. I've never had any problems with it really. As for seling direct to your customer, if it was a 4x4 unit then maybe but they wont sell the pro ix units to anyone but installers. Regards. Mark secure4.me.uk digital cctv
