fogaballa Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Hi ALL, The Honeywell Dual Tec motion detectors I've got have selectable EOL resistors and shows a diagram showing detector connected with two wires only' and the leaflet says - check your Panel manual to find out which value to select. Undfortunately, the manual doesn't mention EOL resistors and the diagram there shows separate pairs for Alarm and Tamper. Both products are Honeywell & I would have expected they'd have adopted the 2-wire standard years ago. Anyone sort me out on this?
sixwheeledbeast Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 No it will more than likely not support EOL circuits. Post the model numbers of the items and we can confirm. I'd expect the Dual Tech to be capable of doing Double Pole with no jumpers fitted.
james.wilson Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 No that panel is double pole only and will not support eol securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

fogaballa Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Well, that IS a bit of a blow ! My 'old' Premier24 supports and it's keypads connect via a data bus which I'm also doubtful if the (LCD) k/pads with this more modern piece of krapp do. I've laid 6-core so can't double-up the power wires on long run to garage - . So it seems I now have to remove all the jumpers for the EOL resistors and I presume connect the alarm pair across C and NC and the tamper ones across T1 and T2 on my DT450UK2 detectors. Confirmation of this would be appreciated.

fogaballa Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Well der y'ar - one's always wiser after the event. Anyway, many thanks for your replies. Fogaballa (Ir. 'clear the way')
magpye Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Why not fit a remote PSU in the garage? Will save the cables used back to the panel. I've laid 6-core so can't double-up the power wires on long run to garage - . Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
fogaballa Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 Thanks magpye - or even forget the tamper and use wires to double up on the power if find more than 2 or 3 volts drop ? But with loop length to garage about 30 metres and detector max current 30mA at 12V nom, do you think there's any need to double?
