taffp Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I have been called out to a scantronic 500r to replace an old worn out remote setting device (fob).I have entered the eng code and gone to the programming mode code 81 .The used zones are flashing but the RF light is on and will not go out .When selecting zone 9 to program the panel for the new fob I get the no entry continuous tone .The system is working perfectly well but will not let me add a new remote setting device Any ideas

taffp Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 Hi , the spares are still available on some ebay sites.The frequency I'm working with is 418 mhz.The problem I have is when trying to add this new 525r to the old system which I put in 10+years ago and still going strong except for the 525r fob which has been pressed so many times in its lifetime it needs a replacement.I enter the eng mod and select program 81 for adding detectors or fobs and the RF jamming light comes on and stops me even trying to add the 525r fob ,When I press "9" I just get the tone to tell me somethings not right .Any advice would be appreciated Taffp

taffp Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 according to the seller the frequency is correct 418mhz but can't check it till I get passed the RF Jamming coming on stopping me programming the new remote fob. The RF jamming light comes on only when I enter prog 81 (addressing the fobs and detectors) but not before in standbye or set mode. The system sets ok with other key fob so no existing rf problem any ideas welcome Taffp
