alarmman123 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 good day, I have got hold of a guardall qx 34i for test bench purposes, I have connected up the keypad using the XIB bus, + - A B. When i power up the unit the keypad beeps, the power light flashes and then when i go to adress the keypad afterwards instead of coming up with the time and date like its supposed to according to the manual, it comes up with 'px kp type-2 v2.00a' it also does this when powering up. is there anything i need to do to stop this. the panel is second hand so it may need defaulting... any suggestions?
alarmman123 Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 i got an install and user manual with it, they tell me nothing at all about defaulting, i know this is a public forum so you cant give out the info on how to do it, but where can i find the info to do it?
alarmman123 Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 so how come the system doesnt get any further than the keypad version screen? if i found out how to default would defaulting solve the problem. do i need any resistors or anything to add to the keypad bus connections?
james.wilson Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Is the kit proven, ie do you know if its fully functional? Defaulting will allow reprogromming but if you have installer access now won't really help securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
alarmman123 Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 as far as i know the panel is working. i dont have the engineers code for it which is why it needs defaulting
alarmman123 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 was a dodgy connection. im in engineers mode, when i exit engineers mode it says 'engineer' on the screen. what are the default user codes?
