That's what I've always done, I must be some sort of ladder genius as I can also-

a.) Put them on vehicle w/o scuffing f'ck out of the paint

b.) Clamp them on w/o bending the ladder bars to a V

c.) Throw the clamp around loosing the m12 washers or bungs

d.) hurt myself loading them on / off

e.) put the padlocks on so they don't get pinched

f.) drop them on the vehicle

Ah, the genius of getting someone else to do it.

:xmas:

I have only ever had one set of Ladders stolen, (the weekend after the neighbour had his soffits replaced by the 25 yr guarantee travellers!) never had my car screwed (once caught someone who was about to) or anything else I can remember stolen. Lucky or vigilant? luck I guess did play a part but I was always vigilant with the car and co/my property.

Oh! I also did the same with the clamps.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Lol, I was working in Bicester and staying in the same hotel as the shop fitters. We had been having a bit of banter all day and a few beers in the bar at night.

Next morning I came out of the hotel to find my ladders had been stolen off my car in the hotel car park.

It turned out the shop fitter lads had removed them and taken them to site in the back of there transit van for a laugh, no locks.

I had the last laugh when I turned up on site and told them I had phoned the police and they where at the hotel reviewing the CCTV.

you make your own luck. So probably vigilant, not leaving stuff on seats etc.

ie

ive never had my ladders nicked but did loose a 24v hitachi and a 18v elu (pre dewalt) when i didnt lock my van on a callout to a pub.

had a cost robbed out the back seat of a car cos i left it on show.
