A good quality panel will not be unduly bothered by induced AC, whereas a cheap one will be FAing regularly even with an ACT1313 fitted. Thanks too for the reminder about safe zones. I think the safe zone concept has been in the Regs for a long time so the existing installation probably didn't comply when it was put in. As luck would have it, there are lots of rotten floorboards around, so I'll aim to get all my cabling below the new ones with mechanical protection and some warning tape above. Do ELV cables also have to be in safe zones? My guidance book makes no distinction. A pity, because with the mains below and the alarm cables above the floorboards, I would also have some neat physical separation. As to my supplementary question about running telehone cable with alarm cables, would anyone care to comment> Thanks again.
