Texecom Premier 48 - Battery Fault

I have got the Texecom Premier 48 with a Battery Fault.

 

This has happened since we had a short power-cut one evening. I have logged into engineer mode and looked at the status of the battery. The battery has 13.6v and is fully charged.

 

I have done a walk test to make sure all the PIR’s and Door Contacts work.

 

What I have displaying on the LCD Keypad is ‘System Alerts!’ and ‘Battery Fault’, how can I stop these messages from appearing?

What's the actual current , current of the battery?

If its below a certain threshold that's what's causing the issue.

Had it once with a new battery from the van with it being cold.

Left it charging for a hour or so while doing Maint and was all okayafter that.

The only way to stop them is to fix the issue. How old is the battery, when was it last serviced etc. You can't test a battery on voltage alone

Did you test the current draw?

Have you a battery tester.

Chances are the battery is over 4 yrs and has lost its holding capcity.

Maybe not. The prem has a bit of a bug, go into 'Monitor Hardware' and turn off Battery monitoring and exit engineer, it should now be clear of the fault. Now enter engineer and turn battery monitoring back on. Should work.

No of course, but I assume the OP is not brain dead. This has happened to me more than once after swapping a battery after a long mains fail. Tech know about the issue. Edited January 27, 2013 by alterEGO

Thanks for all the replies guys, it very much appreciated.

 

I’m not sure what the actual current of the battery is, but what I can see is in the Wintex software it shows:
- System Voltage: 13.73v
- Battery Voltage: 13.73v
- System Voltage: 0.285a -> 0.351a (it is constantly moving up and down)

 

I’m not sure what the Current draw is, does the above Voltage mean anything?

 

I don’t have a battery tester either.

 

The Battery is around 4 years old now, how long do they last for?

 

I have found ‘Monitor Hardware’ via the keypad, it reads ‘PAFBALB’ I cant seem to do anything. I have looked in the Wintex software for the ‘Monitor Hardware’, but can’t find it. What I have found is ‘Online Status and Control’ in there is a section called ‘System’, which shows a Red Light against Battery Fault.

 

It would be good to try turning the monitor off and then back on to see if it clears the error, how can this be done via the Wintex software?

4 yrs old it may be shot. Without a tester it will be difficult, but use your dvm and pull the mains from the panel and monitor the voltage at 10 minute intervals for an hor or so. That will tell you if its duff.

Plus your charge current seems high for a fully charged battery again maaking me suspect its failing
