Gavin Kay Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Hi all, I have had experience with alarms before as I work for an alarm installation company (which have now moved onto CCTV). After installing a Texecom Premier 24 in a previous dwelling I opted to go for the Premier Elite 48-W for our new house complete with a single keypad, Texecom bellbox, 4 Impaq Contact-W, 7 Impaq Shocks and 7 QD-Ws. I have been back and fourth with a Texecom representative regarding an issue with an error Network 1 - Exp 1 lost, this then appears for Exp2 and Exp3 with the sounders going. This panel has expanders actually on the circuit board so I cannot figure out where the fault lies. Texecoms answers were simply to check its not in commissioning mode and so on. I have the CommIP module connected to Comm2, this does drop connection from time to time but apart from that its fine. I haven't wired up the bellbox yet as an outside cover wasn't included, I had the tampers linked out but this didn't help either. Does someone know any better than me who can advise? I have attached a log file and a couple of images. All the shocks and contacts have had the commissioning jumper removed too, this has been double checked. Lwillis Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Would start by tidying up the panel first making sure everything's tight, lose the extra twin and earth - replace for flex and affix to backplate for safety. Battery date? Data line with mains ? If the expanders are onboard I would say its a pcb fault. Try defaulting system and learning them in again or swap out the pcb.
MrHappy Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 what happened before event 0390 ? Mr Veritas God
AdrianMealing Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 what happened before event 0390 ? Indeed, also do you have a multi meter and do you know how to use it? Also as mentioned tidy up the wiring, sheath the earth cable from the T&E going into the connector block, and what is the stray yellow wire behind the battery? amealing@texe.com Head of Industry Affairs Visit Our Website Texecom
goncall Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Some thing switched on maybe, that panel needs moved away from the mains cables which seem to pass behind it..will cause endless grief.
Rulland Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 As above, you appear to have loads of RF inducing cables close to the panel, along with cat5 or data, remove excess mains cabling within the panel, maybe some old rubber sheathed cable close, and a bare ended T+E as well-you need to tidy up before you can narrow it down tbh.
Gavin Kay Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Wow, lots of replies already, thanks! Here is the full log file, had to reduce the size of the message as it was too big. http://77.101.116.153/log.txt The battery was purchased around December 2012 so its as new as it can be. There is very little actually in the panel at present - just the cat5e, power, battery and keypad cable. The bare wire to the left of the panel isn't live, made sure of this before installing but its wrapped around the rest of the mains cables and I don't have the confidence to mess about with live wires too much. I have defaulted once and relearnt all the modules but the same thing happened (this was suggested by Texecoms support personnel, I forgot to mention it before) I can get the power cable shortened and sheathed, the stray yellow wire is the link I took out of the tamper circuits as it didn't make any difference. I can probably shift the panel over to the right a bit, the electrics on the whole are extremely shoddy, even down to using an old 80s fuse board but I have run ethernet powerline adapters successfully in the past. So, shift the panel over (probably about another 8" or move nearer the top), remove excess mains cable from inside and either sheath the earth or replace with 1.5mm flex. Thanks for the help so far.

Gavin Kay Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 I moved the panel over this morning, removed excess cable too as well as rerouting the ethernet cable (no earth sheath yet, have to go and get some), just this second it has gone into alarm though. Panel consumption regular is 0.307a at 13.7v, expander consumption is 21.5v, no idea why they are different when its the same circuit board though. I have asked the supplier if they have another on the shelf that I can try - my place of work regularly deals with them so it should not be a problem. As I am writing this it has gone into alarm again, have to turn it off until I can try a few more things I think! Thanks.
Lwillis Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 21.5v ?? Are you sure that's correct ? Sounds like a faulty pcb if its the inboard expander failing tho. Have you tried just having the panel , rkp and expanders online without any zones ? Could possibly be a faulty device pulling for the voltage and causing it to drop off
