danlad1980 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 hi all. here is one for you. in the past if a customer wanted there CCTV on there own TV i would use a modulator to create a analog channel and tune it into there TV and job done but now that all tv channels are now digital its starting to make this harder to do due to it not being that easy to switch most new TV from digital over to analog by press of a button. only other way u have done this in the past is to do a link wired or wireless to the scart socket on the TV. was just wanting to know your views and have you ever come across this issue? thanks for reading. Dan
matthew.brough Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Scart / Phono inputs useful for this. Any reason why these inputs won't do? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
Lwillis Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 havent come across it in a while but would just use a spare input oni a scart as you say. or look for a HDMI convertor or VGA input on the tv.
danlad1980 Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 just wanted your thoughts and ideas. like i said i have used scart in the past and had to use wireless due to size of house and DVR and TV being at other ends of house from each other.
Oxo Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 They make VGA to HDMI adaptors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5mm-Laptop-PC-VGA-Audio-to-HDTV-HDMI-1080p-AV-Converter-Adapter-Scaler-NEW-/300616528647?pt=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item45fe243307 At last managed to get the link working.
james.wilson Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 the only way is with a dvb modulator and not sure if they are avalable. else its still use analogue. Im working on using a smart tv as a browser for our web only dvr. but my tv does this already but only via myth. i dont know of a way thats as easy as anologue days for the user yet securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Lwillis Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 ive got my DVR on VGA into my tv. i do miss the days of using anologe for it tho. not that it cant be done but on some tv's is complicated for the end user or they dont understand why it wont show up in the TV guide next to DAVE. vga or phono is the best way at the moment. unless you can get a DVB tuner
