ralc Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Hi, I wonder if you can help. I have a Visonic Powermax+ unit at my home and I'm getting the error message "S01 Low Battery". I've checked the manual, and Google, and can't find any links (outside of one security site which I can't access because I have a UK, not US, IP address) specific to this issue. Other Low Battery errors are frequent but always referenced with a Zone number and name (e.g. "Z01 Low Battery Living Room"). When those are displayed, replacing the battery in the base of the transmitter has always cleared the error. I unhooked the central panel rechargable battery unit in case that was the issue, and was given a "CPU Low Battery" error, as expected. The central battery is now reconnected, and that tamper alarm cleared. Can anyone help? I don't know where the rogue battery is, so I can't replace it - and the warning will be going off constantly whilst I'm out at work and driving my neighbours up the wall. Many thanks,RALC

ralc Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Thanks for the prompt responses everyone, and especially the purchase link. I have only just moved in. Am I right to assume that there will be a sound/light unit on an outer wall of the property, and that this battery is installed in the base or rear? Are any specialist tools likely to be required to open the unit, to help prevent tampering, or will it simply be protected by a tamper alarm whilst armed? Thanks, RALC

Thanks, RALC This system is capable of having keyfobs and multiple codes. It's highly recommended you have it serviced and the user codes and fobs removed. Just incase someone has a code or fob you don't know of. Battery is inside the "sounder box". No special tools required, the system is tampered; it will only activate externals if armed.
