ronniesize12 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I was wandering if anyone could help with this issue. I am trying to set up monitoring on my mobile phone to CCTV system but phone won’tconnect. The system is so far set up so camera’s are working and can be viewed on the monitor connected to the DVR and also can be viewed on thedownstairs TV. DVR is Sony 700 tvl CCTVRouter is a Huawei HG532 DVR ip address is 192.168.1.50 Router ip address is 192.168.1.1 On the DVR the camera monitoring port is 15961 I have logged onto the router and set up port forwarding withsettings below. Also see attachment Start End Internal hosts 15961 15961 192.168.1.50 Though I have set this port forwarding on the router I’m not100% it is enabled as the enable option is being displayed on the router. Mobile phone software is KYeye which is recommended in theDVR manual. I enter public ip address into phone software along with username and password but cannot connect Anyone got any thoughts and how to troubleshoot this and have I followed the correct procedure. Ron
james.wilson Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 You need to ensure the router is forwarding correctly. Can you use your phone on the internal wifi and use internal address's? This will prove its working and then you can identify the issue securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
digitalwitness Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Can you connect using wifi and local IP address? edit: nevermind, James got there first
ronniesize12 Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 From my mobile phone I connected to my home wireless network. I then used KmEye software to connect to the DVR Mobile Phonemonitoring port and I was successful. I then enabled 3g on phone and tried to connect using the external Ip address of the router but I’m still having no success. I also cannot connect to the DVR from my pc when I’m on the internal LAN. I use NETdvr software on the pc and when I enter the details toaccess the DVR using port 9000 it just fails. Any other advice would be appreciated Ron
digitalwitness Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 PC on LAN You mentioned a different port number than 9000? Phone on 3G Make sure wifi is off when trying 3G Check firewall level settings (if there is level settings), some routers deactivate port forwarding at higher levels. Goto www.portforward.com and check how to for your router, there is also a software tool to check if you have actually opened the ports.
james.wilson Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 As above you now mention port 9000? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
arfur mo Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 afaik 9000 is for the mobile port, try following direct from your pc set the DVR to port 80. now type in its internal address 192.168.1.50 into IE address bar, turn off any popup blockers as you will likely have to allow several acltivex control warnings to pop up, click to run them as this downlads software overlays used for the DVR web server. External Access. if you do not have a fixed ip then you need a service like DYN.com, some router makers like DLink have their own. you can have a free account so register and set up an account, add your server - just follow the prompts. here you can also set up a freindly name. simply put, this DYN service listens for calls to the dynamic ip you started with, then redirects it to the new dynamic ip as it changes, bit like having your post redirected as you move about. portforward.come best place for soecific advice on your router, i'd get it working on http 80 for access via another PC. tbh if you tend to leave a computer on, far easier to access your DVR via that computer using logmein. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Steve2627 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Not sure if this is still an issue as the post goes back to February. I have found on some routers that you need to make a NAT entry to allow port forwarding to work correctly. If you can access the DVR from the local LAN then it would suggest a router problem. There is a good site I use all the time called Ping.eu This site allows you to do a port check test and can also do domain lookup if you have for instance set up DDNS. Type in domain name 0r public IP address of the router and the port number you use and hit GO Make sure your DVR is online and if the server can see the port in operation you will get an OPEN reply if not it will show CLOSED. It will return values of ports in operation not what is programmed in the router. So if for example the port forward is right but the DVR has the wrong default gateway set you will get a closed reply as the DVR is not answering on that port number. It is also good as you can test it from the same network your DVR is on, obviously with a PC as the result is obtained by the server and not the local LAN.
