Just retired from the police service where i last worked as a technical surveillance officer.

Have a wealth of experience in covert design / build / install having been home office trained etc.    Now looking to start up in business but having been insulated from the real world having difficulty with the concept.

I would like to remain in the covert arena really - so is anyone looking to sub contract or even employ someone like me.

Is there enough work in covert installs do do full time or perhaps 1/2 full time.

Thanks for any help & info

IME no. Covert CCTV is a very small part of the CCTV market, its niche and specialised but I think you'd struggle to make a full time job out of it unless you have some very good contacts.

It also attracts the nutters, I turn away about 50% of our enquiries (they are all in London too, oddly).

Covert jobs can lead on to bigger things though, most of our national CCTV jobs were initially covert enquiries. Personally I find it interesting and very rewarding.
