G2 Siren Current Draw (Again)

Driller

Guys,

Just connected the exernal siren on the work system (had too much going on before).  Current draw is 405mA on full chat, the internal siren one 260mA.

I put the internal siren on the main bell output before but obviously the 2 together go over the 500mA of the bell output and the 12V+ supply.

I hate the SCB concept so used AUX+ and - and reprogrammed output 1001 as a bell output.  Even with the PIRs on the Aux+ it's still within the 500mA limit and the 1001 output is rated as 300mA so ok there too.

Any reasons why this shouldn't be ok?

Sorry James  didn't see your post.  It's definitely not total current capacity, the spec er specifies all Aux 12v+ as 500mA and the bell output as 500mA.  It also specifies output 1001 as 300mA.

Measure time then you dentist you!

Awww give a guy a break, it's Sunday night, got work tomorrow and Tuesday and off on holiday Wednesday early :(

Yeah, I do have a memory of it somewhere :ninja: Are the actual current draws on these sirens likely to be that much different in reality compared to the spec sheet?

G2 Install says:

Individual 12 V outputs:

Bell+12V-----------------max 500mA
Both Aux+combined----------max 500mA
Trigger Header+12V

Switched Outputs:

Trigger Header Outputs
Bell Trigger 1003-------------can sink 500mA
Strobe Trigger 1004
Trig Output 1001-------------can sink 300mA

yes the individuals can handle that but if you add all that up you will see its overloads your panel. Some panels have 1A psu's and need 500mA for the battery so you only have 500mA total available for devices.

ie you drilling machine has a load of ports id guess but how many drills can it handle concurrently.
