whizzer
tried to check the charging voltage today and found nothing on the battrey leads ? is this a "trickle" charge or a common fault ? battrey tested ok.
james.wilson
If its detecting battery presence some panels remove charge voltage when battery disconnected as nothing to charge. The old days of 'trickle' charge are going as most new panels dont work like this as they have to charge the battery harder to hit the recharge time on the bigger batts. I suppose this could be an old panel and the above be wrong securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. whizzer
how would i take the charging voltage reading if thats the case and the voltage is removed when i diss the battrey ?
james.wilson
you need a dummy load, or measure it before and after reconnect. But it doesnt mean what it did on the old panels as they charge voltage fluctuates on panels that do this. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. Lwillis
As above some of the newer 9751's won't charge if it doesn't see a battery. Load test the battery and get its voltage . Collect to panel and measure across output it should be higher.
