Guest ob1 Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I have a C&K 800l and I am very happy with it. I installed it over 4 years ago. I am now getting a false alarm on Zone 4. So I tried the following: I isolated zone 4 by removed all the wiring connected to zone 4. I wanted to confirm the problem was in either my wiring route or the PIR. I replaced the zone 4 with a loop - so zone 4 was closed. The problem is the zone is still being activated. I set the chime function to monitor zone 4
Service Engineer Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Sounds as though something is drawing more current than it used to for those voltages to have dropped that much..? Disconnect the battery and see if they go back to normal. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)

Guest ob1 Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Thanks Guys I will try the panel reset and disconnecting the battery.. will post an update with results. I do think a PCB is in order. Can anyone suggest a C&K 800l dealer in birmingham? or would you suggest a new panel altogether - it has been 4 years since I last looked again Jason

Guest RICHL Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Now might be a good time move up to a better control panel
sparky83 Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Could be a dry joint on the back of the pcb where the terminal block is connected to the pcb? See if there are any cracks around where the pin is soldered on, if there is try resoldering it? Just an idea...? Trade Member
Guest Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 14.35 V seems a bit high,,,looks like the panel has been on its way out for a while..
Brian c Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 14.35 V seems a bit high,,,looks like the panel has been on its way out for a while.. 22073[/snapback] eng is right, they do seem a bit high. As the voltages lowered to an accepatable level when you removed the cables to that zone, though, it may suggest a fault on that cable. If you don't know......ask.
