timmo66 Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Or you could steal your employers db and go round door knocking and rubbishing them. Thats the last thing i would do. The boss has been very good to us over the years.
goncall Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 How do you go from being employed full time to having enough work to go self employed? I do my own jobs out of work like everyone does, and circumstances are leading me towards working for myself, but how do you make that jump? when your private jobs become so busy theres not enough hours in the day then its the time to jump,if not its just beer money imo
timmo66 Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Would a company employing a sub contractor be looking for these certifications? I have been working in the trade for ten years now but have no piece of paper to say i can actually install and commission fire alarms. I have an nvq level 3 but it didnt cover fire.
sjsturner Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Which nvq? Lots of people dont have those pieces of paper and their still doing it, and some of them very well
matthew.brough Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Unless you have an established contact(s) who is able to give you enough work to live (modesty) on from day 1 or enough money in the back / rich woman to support you, I'd say say /get a job Agreed. I'd love to go back to just having a job . . . www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
