timmo66 Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 It was three years - cant remember the course number though. I am looking at the certs but it doesnt say. Year one elec principles, year two intruder, year three intruder and cctv. Cctv side of it though was back in the stone ages. Wish it was fire to be honest.
sjsturner Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 You can still do fire but as said before fia fire modules will help and you get a book to refrence too as well

Adi Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 But an FIA course doesnt make you a fire alarm engineer, nor is it supposed to teach you to be one. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
sjsturner Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Correct but i was under the impression timmo is an alarm eng doing it. And he hinted at going it alone and what sorts of paperwork would be usefull to him
james.wilson Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 But a good basis imo securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
sjsturner Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Its like a more hands on version of a regs cert like 7671 for example you just get text . Because it explains the regs with add drawings and shows examples.
timmo66 Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 I was a fire alarm engineer today. I have been working on fire for best part of ten years, but we dont get that much fire work. If i was to do these fia courses would they give me qualifications or just theory in my head?
