AlarmScot Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Hello, First Post so unsure if this fits here. I got put one of these 'Refresher Training' for working at heights. Has anyone herd of this madness. When going up ladders you should now harness yourself onto the ladder encase you fall? However I was thinking about this, If your ladders are falling or you are going to call I would rather land on the customer nice comfy bushes than on my back with ladders crushing me. Has Health & Safety went mad!
sjsturner Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Theres a vid somewhere of a H&S guy demo that very practice and he ends up in the next garden! Remember itbeing very funny Welcome And health and safety went mad years ago!

And anyway, why would the ladders fall when you've just spent two hours roping them to the wall for that 5 minute job.

LolWe did this course and most of it was built on the assumption that theres always two guys there. It was bull imo. I use common sense and mental RA more than anything else.
