The Ups And Downs And Ins And Out Of Spread Spectrum

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've started writing a series of posts about the technologies used in alarm systems, and how the spec sheets match up to reality.

I thought I'd start with frequency hopping spread spectrum which is used in some modern wireless alarm

I'm going to cover rolling codes and encryption in later posts.

Id advise keep me onside. I value your viewpoint but you need to keep within. I have offered you do that please don't keep on breaking our rules. That will end one of one way.

Sorry - I'll stop posting links. I think it needs to be more explicit in the rules - most other forums enforce it in the forum code to avoid issues.

And an article mentions drawbacks for FHSS, then mentions a sh1tty make and Texecom.

Ooops.

Sorry - I don't understand. They both use the chip, as do several others. I could have mentioned Pyronix with the Si4432 or Cooper stuff with 3 different front ends in it, or any other. I'm not commenting on them using FHSS, just how you can push the chips harder if you aren't building a product.

The link seems pretty relevant and I can't see flocks of members leaving TSI to go and read a one way blog instead if that is the worry?

Enjoyed reading it - thanks CG.  I am looking forward to the one on encryption.
