Guest park.avenue Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I am new to this forum and have basic electronic knowledge. I have tamper light ON and can not set my alarm installed by a company 4 years ago and charged me £700 pounds then including + £70 advance anual service charge but never serviced even once. I have checked all the wiring. PSU has normal green light ON and the BB intact but still TAMPER light does not RESET and can not set the alarm. I have followed the user guide to no success. ANY HELP APART FROM CALL THE PROFFESSSIONAL PLEASE. Park.

Guest park.avenue Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Are any zone lights on. 22099 All zone lights are off. I have walk tested and its ok. When I set alarm it bleeps 10 (I think) times, pauses 2 seconds and again bleeps 10 times. This pattern continues until I Reset it.

A few things to check - (but before you do remember that there is live 220v present inside the panel) 1 - is the cover on the panel properly, the tamper spring must be pressed down properly. 2 - are the covers on all the devices properly? i.e. the PIRs, the remote keypad. If the answer to both of those is yes, check the resistance on the global tamper circuit (if used) - you should have a short across the wires going into these terminals on the main board. If that is not the problem, then try linking out the bell tamper Good luck - and let us know how you get on. I would get hold of the installation company and query why the system has never been serviced, if you have paid for it. Also - after 4 years you will need a new battery too - probably worth having it serviced by a pro. D7

A few things to check - (but before you do remember that there is live 220v present inside the panel) I am always careful when it comes to mains. I have some experience of power supplies background. Thanks for warning. 1 - is the cover on the panel properly, the tamper spring must be pressed down properly. I just went down to check and panel cover is tightly secured and above it a green ligt is ON. 2 - are the covers on all the devices properly? i.e. the PIRs, the remote keypad. I also checked the PIRs but my keypad is wired & seems OK. But will again throughly check PIRs as the house was throghly cleaned for dust with vac cleaner extension pipe near PIRs. If the answer to both of those is yes, check the resistance on the global tamper circuit (if used) - you should have a short across the wires going into these terminals on the main board. If that is not the problem, then try linking out the bell tamper I had relocated the BB a year ago, so I will also get on the ladder. Good luck - and let us know how you get on. I had not a good service from the installer for they drilled chopping 6" hole in the wall for wiring, then the panick button has never worked, asked for another advance fee for the annual service never carried out even after 15 months. I asked them to refund the first advance, they agreed but never paid, even after 10 written reminders. So I gave up as my work has dried up now and alarm misbehaving. Their paper work never mention the Name of the Alarm (forget the user guide, panel name or KP) I gathered from internet. Texecom registered me as an installer but I am the end user. I had the limited company letter head and from the correspondance they assumed I am a trader. Thanks for your tips. I will be grateful if anybody has any hints. D7 22109
