james.wilson Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 never used a portal on a g3. But if its the same as the g2, you will need to get the serial number into the circuit you are using. matthew.brough Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 It's easy enough on a GD. Each RF portal is seen as RIO's and you can tell it how many rio addresses you want to take up. It's a case of putting the panel into learn and tampering the device and all is well. Program everything else as a normal zone. Quote www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
danlad1980 Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 sounds easy enough. am i right in thinking its the RF rio's that you needed to connect a keypad to for setting up? Quote
james.wilson Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I remember on the radio Río you adressed it and enabled upto 4 rios. That was done via a keypad connected to the rio. how is it done an the dimension. Plus at what firmware did it supports portals? GalaxyGuy Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Yes, RF portal is done via the keypads. 6.5 That's confusing Matt! The old RF RIO (C076) is seen by the systems as a RIO and is programmed by connecting a keypad locally to its programming header. There are two RF portal models: C077 Used on G2 series only and programmed in panel menus. C079 Used on G2 or Dimension panels and programmed in panel menus. C079-2 (new rev of C079) Quote
matthew.brough Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Sorry it is. I meant a keypad on the system not a keypad plugged onto the portal. Quote www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
danlad1980 Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 hi all. am i right in thinking i just wire it like a rio and then rescan system to find it? do you address it the same way with the pot or is it done another way? thanks for all the replys. Quote

Yes, just wire it as a standard rio and when you exit engineers it will say x modules added. Rf portal can take up to 3 rio addresses depending how you set it up in the programming.
