Lectrician Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Installed a menvier SD1+ to a panel for someone last year, all fine, and has worked on a couple of occasions!! Thunderstorms, and now the dialler is completely dead. has volts feeding it, no screen, and it keeps the phone off hook. Anyone had this before, customer not happy, wants to know if it was the lightning or what?? Email : martin@askthetrades.co.uk
Guest RICHL Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Not unusual as it is connected to the phone line.
norman Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 The speech dialler would be the first to take a strike (as any comms mod) they should be insured against this sort of thing, and it's hardly your fault God fancied a light show Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 def been zapped............. use the line filters from act for future jobs...do the trick...unless you want your chargies up
Lectrician Posted September 15, 2004 Author Posted September 15, 2004 Anyone seen the new SD2? Funky blue backlight screen and tempurature display as well?! OOh i remember the days when the SD1 was pretty much the only speech dialler on the market, now they're all at it! 23349[/snapback] Havnt used the SD2 yet, got the spec though - looks good. breff Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Seen the SD2, thought it would be a blinding idea for comms rooms just to monitor the temperature! The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
