Joe Harris Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 One of the garages on the Great West Road is like this. Perfectly possible to trigger the Redwalls from the pavement never mind the open forecourt . Audio challenges started out quick and authoritative 2 years ago, the man now sounds like he is dead inside. Any ARC/RVRC worker would totally emphasise with that. Car forecourts are the absolute best example of where CCTV is definitely required and where false alarms will certainly happen. The issue is not just the number of activations but also how long potential buyers are on site and distinguishing those with malicious intent from the genuine potential buyers who are looking in the vehicles and winding in and out of cars. Activations from the public areas are simply down to poor installations and should never happen. Under BS8418 they are specifically ruled out but very few installs are up to that specification. 60........................... :new_rofl: Low number tbh, we also deal with potentially problematic sites in this manner however we tend to only enforce additional charges if an end user is being obstructive or not acting reasonably to try and prevent such activations. By example think not cutting greenery or failing to train / advise staff.
matthew.brough Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 60........................... :new_rofl: Per day www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
PeterJames Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Priced it and advised any more than 60 FA's a month will incur additional costs. Our ARC is charging the same £1.50 per activation after the 60pcm on the plus side their anual fee is almost half it was a couple of years ago
cybergibbons Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Under the flyover? Yep. I have a blog, some of which is about alarm security and reverse engineering:http://cybergibbons.com/
alterEGO Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Who's monitoring them? EMCS They are getting better at CCTV, used to be ****. Would be interesing to see what everyone is paying for CCTV monitoring, only interested in approved ARC's though, none of these Guarding firms.
MrHappy Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 anybody using 1st county for cctv, IIRC them getting slated ? Mr Veritas God
whistle Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Got the order for the job today. We are fitting it in about 2 - 3 weeks due to a high work load at the moment. The funny thing is how i got the lead. While on holiday in Tenerife at Easter I was on a car forum and found the guy who owned the place asking about CCTV. Commented on the thread, turns out they are about 30 miles from us, bingo order for a good few bob with monitoring and maintenance worth a few bob over the next 3 years. Happy days.
