Its perfectly possible to get identification from pal cameras just don't expect too much scene width.

Also ideally you shouldn't put your emitter (light source) and your pickup (the camera bit) together. THis is done for cost saving reasons, but with some down sides.

I'm toying with an IP update for work as tided of stuff being flytipped in the road, my exsitng cam(s) can see stuff being left but not reg plates

Ill send you some downloaded footage from them to have a look. Reg plates good. Cost £270 for outdoor and £230 for indoor cam.the pics I put up were just a print screen from my pc.
