Cubit Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 how about this perspective?????????????????? been the boss of small co. worked 17hr day get to bed at 2am after install then paperwork and quotes in the evening. As the boss you feel pressured by your secretary and engineers to be on time in the morning. Otherwise you get labelled as lazy boss, because they do not see how late you work. As i posted before, it's all about common sense, and not necessarily about a boss pressuring an employee. it works both ways And the point of all that?If the situation you describe is a one off with regard to the hours then it is manageable. If, on the otherhand, it the norm, then it suggests you have still a lot to learn about management.
arfur mo Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 One of my own staff is a member here is he not who confirms what a wonderful company we are to work for? and would he say you were not a wonderful boss, but an over bearing bully while still employed by you? i think not, given your robust defense of you position 'if you don't like it go get another job', i for one would not blame him. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
matthew.brough Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Allen is of the calibre he could get another job tomorrow. He's here because he wants to be, not because he has to be. I remember something that was said to me at adt when people complained about x y and z. Fill a bucket with water, swirl the water around and wait 5 minutes. The hole left after 5 minutes is the hole you'll leave in this company if you leave. Very true for the vast majority of employees. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/

If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Lwillis Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 What do you guys make of this then? Just done 9-1730. Few hours in office sorting out jobs for this week. On call and have a booked job in for 11pm tonight ( 24 hr site only time it can be done ) -outside sorting IR cameras. Technically have a booked domestic maint tomorrow for 9am although it could be covered by someone else. Don't usually have jobs that late, and I usually up until atleast midnight away. Depending how long it takes me to do this job tonight probslly be at the maint for 0900/0930 anyway.
