Lwillis Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 It's 8 hours lay off time from time you get back home from callout. So you've had a full nights sleep up at 7am and get a call at 8. Finish at 9 so home by half 9. Start work at 1730????Whatever company you work for just have engineers siting around to cover everyone else's jobs and stacks of cash to pay people to sit on their ****! Any jobs going ?
matthew.brough Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 easy, theres employment laws to prorect against the not so supportive employer shall we say, which ONE of your arcs has had problems,i thought you, only had one arc op,that lad must be busy...hope he gets decent rest inbetween arcs.. The main one. Ironically the dr site has much less spec kit, IP links etc and we never have any grief there. What are you on about reset in between arcs? We have our main place and a dr site which is unmanned unless it ally has to be. Apart from southern monitoring, adt, Chubb I'm not aware of any arcs that man their main and dr site at the same time. We only have single staffing currently but that will need to change once we go to cat2 as 5979 states a minimum of 2 but rest assured that wont be an excuse for one to be sleeping. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
sjsturner Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 It's 8 hours lay off time from time you get back home from callout. So you could sleep for 6 hours , get a 1 hour call out and you have another 8 hours?
abbz Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 I've had calls at 4 am before gone out, came home done some paper work or watched some tele. Had a shower and brekkie gone to work. Well if your playing the 4 hour response time game then I wouldn't have the call passed to me as it will go over to the day shift. Yes it's very rare we get a call that late and if I'm honest the only type of call that will be attended at that time will be a bell ringer. Most of our calls are attended within the hour unless a really busy night.
matthew.brough Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 so you say, theres no proof, even allen is a figment of your over worked imagination Lol. How do you get around the point James, joe Harris and Jim c have met the bloke? www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
MrHappy Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Lol. How do you get around the point James, joe Harris and Jim c have met the bloke? Out of work actor? Mr Veritas God
norman Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Lol. How do you get around the point James, joe Harris and Jim c have met the bloke? We all know it's you in this... Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
goncall Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 The engineers I dislike, know full well I dislike them and why and the ones I love equally know I love them and the reasons why. youve only got 3 and 1 of them is allen, which is you so that leaves 2 you dont like...which is the other 2 now they know..
abbz Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 So you could sleep for 6 hours , get a 1 hour call out and you have another 8 hours? Correct.
arfur mo Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 But you don't have engineers through the night Arf so you don't have a clue what your saying tbh! so i don't have a clue, really - are you sure? you ever been a coffin bearer for a colleague who died falling sleep at the wheel? on Combat Service you worked 24/7 then 7 off, lightning storms would have you out near 24/7, i've been that tired i slept in my car on garage forecourt at the pump, thinking i was in a car park. i've passed a fully lit up Police land rover on the embankment, clocked in a 30 doing 85 in a VAN! i cover my own calls, but if i'm out i diverted my staff to cover any brake down calls at the expense if less urgent calls or installations. you simply have no excuse to abuse your staff into driving unfit due to fatigue, just for the sacks if your profit margin - end off! If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
