Hi, i have an optima xl 6 zone alarm panel and i would like to fit an Accenta RKP,

i have had info that the RKP will fit ALL optima and accenta alarm panels.

the problem i have is cannot find a terminal in the alarm panel for the COMMS.

the RKP has terminals for 0v, 13v, comms, sound and tamper.

does anyone know if the RKP can be fitted, if so any info on the comms connection. i think i can sort the sound and tamp. but any info on this would also be appreciated.

cheers,

Sparko

You should have a 6 way connecter on the left hand side of the circuit board for the RKP (tamp.pwr, comms, sound) , if not, then you RKP is of little use

I think the XL is just the same as the XM , but with illuminated keys.

Thanks Fastcar,

 unfortunately not, i was able to link in all other connections but the comms. which ain't a lot of good. do you or anyone else that may read this know if the panel can be up graded i.e. new board or any mods to the existing one to allow the RKP to be used. i am an electrician and experienced in soldering electronic components.

failing any of the above, what would be a good alarm control panel to use that will have the facility i am looking for, with little or no alteration with the wiring.

if i do change the control panel i will also possibly looking at smoke/fire detection and PIR compatability and with more zones.i will also like to use the accenta RKP if poss.

cheers

As far as I am aware you cannot fit a remote keypad to the Optima xl.

Easiest/cheapest option is to replace it with a Accenta 8 panel, not sure if it's available without the keypad, though

If you don't know......ask.

Thanks again Fastcar, checked sites and found TLC do the Optima compact G3 @

£41.00 and a 1.9Ah batt. for £11.16 which will allow me to use the RKP as well. :)

i don't know if there is any where cheaper but thought this was reasonable.

Checked all wiring in my existing panel and all looks quite straight forward to do the change. may not get around to doing it for a month or so now but i will let you know how i get on...or not. cheers,

Thanks Brian c, along with Fastcar your quite right, i will probably go for the optima

compact G3 which has the keypad on the panel and still lets me connect a RKP.

Hi Fastcar, update on panel, changed my mind about fitting it next month. purchased the opima compact G3 a few days ago and fitted today(Sunday).

no problems encountered, all up and running with RKP connected as well. :) thanks again for your help and advice, and to Brian c. cheers
