Guys,

I m trying to connect my GSR 4.51 to Guardall Px48i v5 100 but seemed like the cheap USB serial converter didnt work, i bought myself another one from Maplin, but its still same. I have the gender changer, I just cannot establish connection with the panel

I have installed everything correctly, my usb recognises the driver and the lead..

Can you guys recommend me a usb serial converter please? Or a solution to overcome this issue..

thank you.

You could try the latest drivers from the chip manufactures website. It is usually FTDI or CH340. Look in Device Manager under Ports and you should see something like USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM11) or USB-SERIAL FTDI (COM15) you can then get the latest drivers from http://www.driversdownloader.com/drivers-other/others/usb-serial%20ch340 or  http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm. Device manager will also show you which COM port to use.

Sorry LWILLIS,  here is what i done

1. Edit 99 – GSR 12
2. Select GSR number , selected GSR 1 as i m using GSR BASIC
3. Enable = Auto
4. S/N = 00000000
5. GSR ID = 1
6. The rest of the options can be left as default
Edit 99 – Module 13
1. Selected SM0
2. Set the Type to Serial
3. Baud rate is 9600

on my GSR BASIC

GSR ID is 00000000
PANEL TYPE : PX48i V50x UK (panel is Px48i 100 V5
PRIMARY ROUTE #DIRECT
My Usb Serial port is on 4 so in Tools > View Setup > Comms > Route 1 -    Direct#1  , Serial/Direct , COM 4 , Baud Rate 9600

Do you think the above is correct?

What do you have for GSR ID on your GSR Basic??

We use the customers contract number as GSR ID. I'm using GSR Direct tho not sure if that makes any difference.
