pdunn467 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could possibly assist...? We have recently moved into a new home which has a Gardtec 360/580 installed. Stupidly, I managed to set of the alarm, which I silenced by entering the normal code on the control panel. Rather than showing the usual UN (which from the manual I believe to be UNset) it now shows AL, Alarm Log. On trying to reset back to UN, I get the code AC 21 74 flashing. This is believe is wanting an anti code entering. I believe the original company got taken over by Risco, and they have online generator and smartphone apps but only available to registered installers. Would one of you kind people be able to provide the anti-code to resolve this? I can of course buy you a pint (via paypal) as a thankyou. Thanks in advance Phil
AdrianMealing Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 HI Phil, unfortunately what you request won't happen. You will need to call a local installation company to sort it for you, probably be wise to the get the system serviced at the same time. This is likely to benefit you in the long run if you don't know the history of the system, back up batteries should be checked and where required replaced, all of the devices should also be checked to make sure you won't have false alarm issues. amealing@texe.com Head of Industry Affairs Visit Our Website Texecom
arfur mo Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 The panel is made by Gardtec, which is now owned by Risco. Your correct about the app but we can't assist you due to forum rules, we simply can't verify the circumstances are true, i'd be unhappy if my system was unlocked and you had not paid the bill as example.. This is a very old now obsolete panel, very basic and reliable, it likely needs a new battery while a competent engineer could recover it i'd suggest to consider if it is wiser, putting the money towards a new panel with the many later features that are now available, and get a warranty. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
pdunn467 Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks both for your replies, with good points and taken onboard. A new panel and replacement battery will probably be the route taken. Are there any recommnedations for a new panel? especially regarding, basic usage, reliability and cost and preferably not working on the anti-code system for resets. Thanks, have a good weekend.

Like i said, best to contact a local installer for this. I would get three quotes from either SSAIB or NSI registered installers in your area, they will have their preference on equipment they support and discuss your requirements with you. http://ssaib.org/security-provider-search/ http://www.nsi.org.uk/ amealing@texe.com Head of Industry Affairs Visit Our Website Texecom
james.wilson Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 For non approved stuff id recommend a Honeywell accenta with lcd keypad. PeterJames Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 preferably not working on the anti-code system for resets. Anti code is normally only set up if the system is monitored. I would call the installer they will have the history of the system and give a better recomendation of what does and does not need updating. The 350 is very old and may require updating
arfur mo Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 i'd certainly ask the question about the companies policy, most installing companies would not require you to have any form of reset on a non-monitored, where it is mandatory on a monitored system, that results in calling the Police via an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), i'd assume you don't need that, imho, although at this time you don't possibly need it, be wise to have a Grade 2 compliant control unit installed vot a few more quids, so you have the least expense, at some later date, due to a possible insurance stipulation, or if you unfortunately have a break-in, or perhaps a better discount offered.
