totalsparky Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Hi, I've got a Galaxy 16+ end station that needs replacing I think, keypads LEDs are flashing quickly and manual says this is a blown battery fuse or faulty battery. Checked all those, all ok. If I do have to change the panel do they still do G16's or is there a compatable panel bearing in mind I would like to try and use the existing keypads which are MK 3. Processor chip inside panel says its a version 1.966. Many thanks
james.wilson Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 No the g16 is well out of production. Galaxy 2-12 / 2-20 or flex is your best bet securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
totalsparky Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 @PG, ACT Battery tester. Are the keypads compatable with any G panels?
james.wilson Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 AFAIK all the galaxy keypads are backwards compatible. I have used a mk3 keypad on the bigger stuff not on a g2 though securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Paul. Giles Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Yep, all backwards compat. G2-12 with new keypad is the cheapest way to replace.
totalsparky Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 Sorry, so just to confirm, I Can use the old MK3 keypads and just the G2 end station required?
Paul. Giles Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Its cheaper to buy the panel and keypad as they come in a kit with two tags. G2-12 PROX kit is about £20 more than a PROX keypad on its own. The Mk3 would work but its obsolete now and very old. Dont think they sell endstations on their own in the G2 range? Although we have 8 G2-12 endstations in our stores that we bought just for the keypads
totalsparky Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 @PG, , Topman. Will do what you advise. Thanks for all the advice.
