Guest Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I've got it down to a fine art,It took some time to get the "technique" right though Regards Bellman 22714 It's all in the wrist movement you know! Guest mike2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 It's meant to keep the idiot's out!! 22712 Well, I think I might view this as a challenge in that case! Will probably go for either a Galaxy 16 or Texecom Premier... Mike

Paul Giles Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 We have taken a couple karizma plus over from national and they are very good panels. Menu driven and easy to programme, they are also still a current panel but do not comply with dd etc. I would always recommend Galaxy but to be honest in a domestic situ go for scannie or menvier. bellman Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Is that because of price Paul? the Menvier and scanny stuff is good, and they have been around since the ice melted. Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Paul Giles Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Yeah price mostly but they are too industrial for domestic i think with regards to chime etc. We have a nice balance now by using Galaxy for all our top end/industrial work and the scannie gear for domestic etc... bellman Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Whatever works best for you, I just don't enable chime thru 16Ohm... I get what you mean with the "Industrial" feel though... Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
bellman Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 it's the DURR DURR that gets me, perhaps if you could change the tone it made like you can with the gal16 keypad sounds... Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Guest mike2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Sorry to be a pain and ask another (rather vague) question... I've identified a few systems available to me for between the 30-70 pound area (some 2nd hand and some brand new). Which of these contenders should I buy for me to install in my house (competent DIYer but 1st time in installing alarm system) 1) Galaxy 16 2) Scantronic 9651 3) Gardtec 580 4) Texecom Veritas Excel 5) Karizma Plus And would it be the same choice if my level of experience wasn't an issue? Thanks again for your advice! Mike
