Guest sanderson Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 Hi I moved in to my house recently with an Accenta 8 alarm system installed, as I am new to this I was wondering if someone could help me I had to do some decorating in my living room, which required me to take down one of the zones (3), I unwired the device, taking a note of the order of wires. When I re-wired the zone I noticed that the infrared sensors from any of the zones no longer came on - I have a total of 3 infrared zones. I then tried to arm the system, on the RKP all the zones were lit with a continous bleeping noise. I have double checked the wiring and it seems ok. Thanks in advance.

Guest sanderson Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 A silly question. How I would I know what fuse has blown - I have a diagram of the PCB and there are three: 1A 13v & Speaker 1A Bell & Strobe 1.6A Battery Can I do this whilst there is power to the board. Thanks for such a fast reply.. Regards
Guest sanderson Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 I dont have anyone who looks after the system - is this advisable then. As with the blown fuse - could this of been caused by a short - the cables were not covered whilst I was decorating.

Guest sanderson Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Thanks for this - I will try this. Do you know how much it usually costs for an engineer to visit onsite to test/fix the alarm system, also do you have any idea of any reputable companies that do this. Regards
Guest RICHL Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 usually £45.00 upwards depending where you are and if anything else needs to be done. where abouts are you? Most installers wont touch a one off job but will take on an exsting install for annual inspection as long as it is a decent quality install.
