whistle Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Looks like its going to be glanded into a Gwis box then
sixwheeledbeast Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Cat 5 through connector in a small box instead? Or will the original cable not wire straight into the camera?
whistle Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 The college won't let us work that way. It's single back box with network point provided by them, that's it.
jimcarter Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Your right that our little slide on connector should do the job fine. If one of our IP/GPRS units were monitoring the site it could also monitor the IP address of the Camera/DVR whatever and send a SIA message if it goes off line. But anyway...the connector should at least make it difficult for them to simply remove. Jim Carter WebWayOne Ltd www.webwayone.co.uk

That's interesting. Can it be setup to do this for multiple IP's and devices?
datadiffusion Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Yes, I'm guessing you don't just mean with the Webway imaging upgrade? Or do you And where do you get those little devices from Jim? Or is it a secret! So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
jimcarter Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 No, not just the Imaging, this is IP Address monitoring. Yes, supports unto 14 (infact it may be 16, but play safe with 14 for now). Basically the unit is pinging the local device IP, you can configure the frequency the SPT will ping the device, the number of failed pings that constitute a failure to communicate and the number of pings that will initiate a restore. In addition you can assign a zone to each device and a SIA code (IA/IR Equipment Fail is favourite) with appropriate text, such as DVR 1 Fail/Restore etc. Its very effective. And you can buy the RJ connectors from us, we have the design of them...they are our product. Jim Carter WebWayOne Ltd www.webwayone.co.uk
james.wilson Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Yes we use the webway to monitor when internal routers, ip cams etc go off line and report that over sia securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
